Registered

I am registered at Target, buybuybaby.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, AND Baby's R' Us if you want to grace Bryson and I with any gifts :)

thanks

It's a Boy!

Sorry its been awhile...(Obviously I am not a blogger-type)

So... Jeffrey Sellers and I are having a bouncing baby boy according to all the reports and can you believe its only about ONE MONTH until the due date?!! Craziness!

We've chosen the name Bryson General Sellers. We love that its a different name but not too uncommon that its strange (if that makes any sense)...It is special to me, not only because this is my baby and first child, but because "General" is a piece of MY history: my father and grandfather were named Oscar General Penegar, so, although my dad can't be here to inspire and admire Bryson the way I know he would, he will always be apart of him and apart of our lives.

Speaking of my father, I hope Bryson has the curious wonder and urge to continually learn and think for himself the way his grandfather did. I hate so much that the greatest man I ever had the pleasure to know - a man literally from "the Greatest Generation" - won't be able to encourage Bryson the way he did with me, but I hope and will try with all my powers as his mother to make sure he grows to live a life that he is proud of and I hope I can swell with the pride my dad said he had for me!

Okay, enough of that... On to baby matters:

Aug 13th Jeffrey finally felt Bryson doing his acrobatics - he was excited!

Around that time I was also being tested (again) for gestational diabetes because the doctors were a bit afraid of my sugar/carb intake, but all is well...That has been the ONLY issue (so far so good anyway) in my pregnancy.

I feel pretty positive about my weight gain during pregnancy, the last doctor's visit had me at a total of 14 lbs. total since the beginning - I go again today though so we'll see if the weight has gone up; I feel like I am getting to this HUGE "waddling" stage as I march around my classroom.

I'll be going on maternity leave on Oct. 8th, so, now I have less than 6 weeks of school left! (kind of scary since I don't have all my lesson plans done yet!!)

I will be taking the full 12 weeks to be with Bryson (and Jeffrey) and figure out life's next great plan for us...

I am preparing for my fabulous friends' various showers: my girlfriends at the beach are supposedly throwing me a shower around Sept. 12th, my "mother-in-law" is throwing a "his side of the family" shower on Sept. 18th, my hometown buddies and family are throwing me a shower Oct. 2nd in Gastonia, and my co-workers and girlfriends in Charlotte are throwing me a shower sometime before I take leave as well...so hopefully all this partying (you know how I love the spotlight!) :) will stock us up on all the necessities that Bryson will need!!

What else would you like to know??!

Visit my facebook page and you can see pics of my nursery that I've been working on -- hopefully Jeffrey will have the crib picked up and put together this weekend!!

The baby is registered at Target

Mother and I went yesterday and registered possibly gifts or just needed items for the baby found at Target...it was fun scanning away. Jeffrey's reaction to registering was remembering the commercial where a couple was registering for their wedding and then the man acted all dumbfounded when they got cases of beers as gifts - he said he wanted to do that :) Well, go onto: http://www.target.com/registry/baby/portal
and put in my first name (Amanda not Mandy for those of you that call me Mandy) and my last name (Penegar) and it will take you to it...The baby's bday isn't until Oct, but mine and Jeffrey's are this summer so feel free ;)

The News of Baby World...

Well, I just thought I'd share my baby news with the world...

Right now I am about 11 weeks along according to my first doctor visit (it could change on my next visit with all the new details the ultrasound will give).

Jeffrey, my "baby daddy", and I are very excited about our "little grape", as I've been calling him or her (the baby should be about that size right now).

Also, so many other people I know or that are around me are also pregnant and due in November, like my friend/co-worker, Cherie, as well as Jeffrey's cousin, Mallory, so, it is fun to go through this for the first time with other first-timers...

I will have more information after April 20th, the first ultrasound visit, so I'll write more then. As for now, I'll just say that the morning (as well as afternoon and evening) sickness seems to be dying down and my craving for food and more food is really picking up (I really crave fruits!). And the only thing I am not too keen on is being able to share a glass of wine with friends here and there or the feeling like I'm gaining weight for twins! ;)
